Rewards For Defeating Igris
Most bosses in the early stages of Solo Leveling: ARISE can be easily beaten with a variety of weapons and Hunters, but Igris the Red is one opponent who will force you to use your best resources to win. Encountered in Chapter 8 of the story, Igris' fight stands due to its many limitations and requirements. Failing to understand the parameters of this battle can result in a quick loss.
One reason why the Igris boss fight is so difficult is that you have a limited amount of time to beat them. You also cannot lose more than 50% of your health, which forces you to play almost perfectly if you want to succeed. A single mistake in Solo Leveling: ARISE could force you to restart this encounter as you try to learn more about Igris' attack patterns.

Best Weapons For Defeating Igris
Stick To Fast And Light Tools

One of the best strategies for this fight is to use Light elemental weapons to deal the most damage to Igris at all times. Since you only have a limited amount of time to beat this boss, you'll want to use weapons that can inflict the most punishment on Igris. The fewer interactions you have with the boss due to your DPS can also reduce the risk of you taking too much damage, which can prevent you from winning.
There are many different weapons in Solo Leveling: ARISE that your characters can use, but try to use fast weapons with quick attacks over heavier weapons against Igris. While some weapon speeds are hard to determine, you still want to find something that can attack enemies quickly. By using faster attacks, you have more time to avoid Igris as the boss retaliates against you throughout the fight.
Not every weapon in your arsenal has to have the Light element for damage as long as they have quick cooldowns on their skills. The DPS you need to beat Igris in the limited time is high, so you need to spam special weapon abilities often to drain the boss' health fast. Any tool of any element that can do this could be a fine substitute weapon if you don't have anything that deals Light damage.
Some rare weapons in the game can only be bought or upgraded by spending Gold in Solo Leveling: ARISE, so make sure to farm this currency from easier missions before trying to take on Igris.
Best Hunters For Defeating Igris
Bring Plenty Of Support Characters For Extra Damage

The team you should bring into the fight against Igris the Red are Sung Jinwoo, Silver Mane Baek Yoonho, Kim Sangshik, and Yoo Jinho. Sung is, without a doubt, the strongest character in the game and the one who you will be supporting to take down Igris. Every other character has their strengths to combat the boss as well, but your main goal should be to buff Sung as much as possible during the battle.
Yoo Jinho uses a simple sword and shield to fight, but this character deals Light damage with their attacks, allowing you to exploit Igris' weakness alongside the weapons you picked for Sung. Jinho also deals Break damage, which is an important type of attacking power needed for nearly any boss fight. Make sure to equip the "Jinwoo, It's Me!" special skill to this character to give them all these mentioned traits.

Solo Leveling: ARISE Review: Worth Your Time, Maybe Not Your Money
Solo Leveling: ARISE is a wonderful action RPG title with a lot to offer, though it's mildly hampered by its gacha nature and aggressive shop layouts.

Kim Sangshik is another character that deals Break damage, but this party member deals heavy Break instead of Yoo Jinho's medium Break effect. This teammate largely acts as another source of DPS alongside Sung Jinwoo, dealing a larger amount of stagger to Igris than even the main protagonist. While he may not seem to be the coolest character within Solo Leveling: ARISE, he gets the job done.
Baek fulfills a similar role to Kim, albeit with a different skill that can be a bit riskier than other characters. When using "Magical Beast's Instincts," Baek can increase their Attack, but this also increases the damage they take. Since your goal is to defeat Igris within a limited time, you need to take this risk and deal as much damage to the boss as possible despite the extra damage Baek will end up taking.
How To Defeat Igris The Red
Dodge Attacks And Break The Boss
The best strategy for defeating Igris the Red is to evade every one of the boss' attacks, constantly deal damage with your allies, and eventually Break Igris to stagger the hulking enemy knight. The attack patterns for Igris can be hard to learn at first, so it may take multiple attempts to understand the dodge timing on certain strikes. This boss is nimble and surprisingly quick at times as the fight continues.
As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator Forgonation, dealing Light damage and Break consistently to Igris is the best way to take the boss down at any level. Although the recommended Level for your team is 34 for the boss fight, you can try to level up fast in Solo Leveling: ARISE to be far stronger for this encounter. The more powerful your party is, the faster the fight should take.
You have a total of 2 minutes and 55 seconds to defeat Igris the Red, so try and plan your assault accordingly with fast attacks dealt by both Sung Jinwoo and other members of your team.
Try to dodge attacks at the perfect time to activate Extreme Evasion, which slows down time and allows you to get in some extra hits. This will also stop the timer ticking down the limited time you have to beat Igris, so take advantage of this when you can. Take this opportunity to use more Break attacks while the boss is halted during an Extreme Evasion.
When Igris reaches around 50% of their total health, your Break attacks will likely succeed in stunning the boss for a short amount of time. When Igris is broken, unleash your ultimate attacks to deal the most damage possible instantly to the red-armored knight. Those who calculate the damage just right can end the fight right after the boss breaks, but only if they keep up the pressure.

Take On Some New Jobs For Sung Jinwoo

Taking down Igris won't reward you with anything at first as Chapter 8 comes to a close. However, Sung Jinwoo gains access to two new jobs, the Necromancer and Monarch of Shadows, by completing this boss fight. Multiple benefits come from each profession, such as increases to Sung's total power and more stat points for you to use throughout the remaining Chapters of the game.
There are other conditions you'll need to follow to change Sung's job, but these are very simple goals. Completing Chapter 9 or changing jobs a certain number of times already will help you switch to the new roles you've unlocked. With the best weapons and Hunters at your side, you should have everything you need in Solo Leveling: ARISE to end the battle against Igris before time expires and explore each new job.
